I hope all of you and your loved ones are safe and healthy. I sure do miss a gym full of kids. I can't wait for the day that we can safely open our doors to our gymnasts again! The health of our community is our first priority and we will be following strict guidelines in regards to when we reopen. Many families have texted asking when we will resume classes, my honest answer is, "I don't know." We will continue to follow the state mandates and CDC guidelines. When the threat is deemed over by public health officials, Sitka Gymnastics will be here for your family. We have gotten through many obstacles and challenges over the years, this may be our biggest challenge yet, but coach Brandon and I are confident we will come through on the other side. Our program was built with a foundation of love, determination, and countless hours of volunteering. We are ready to do the work to stay on track and are taking steps to apply for the small business stimulus package. Families will have the opportunity to financially contribute during this time but all auto-pays for April 1st will be frozen. If the gymnastics center must remain closed through May, auto-pays for May will also be frozen.
Additional tuition information:
March Tuition: Gymnasts missed 1 week of planned classes for March (Spring break was a planned break and taken into account for tuition calculation). If you did not pay in full for the semester or register on our new Sawyer registration system, you have not been charged for March tuition. We will need to collect prorated tuition for March for services provided. We are open to creating payment plans for families who are unable to work due to the government mandate shut-down or for the safety of their health. For the families who did pay in full or pay for March tuition, please accept a credit on your gymnastics account for future activities. We are unable to offer refunds to everyone at this time as the gym currently has no cash flow and we need to continue to cover our overhead such as rent, utilities, etc.
Pay in full (Leaving town): We understand there are families who may be leaving town as they will be transferred out in June (such as coast guard/troopers). Please complete the tuition reimbursement request at the bottom of this statement. Based on the number of requests, we will develop a reimbursement payment plan. We ask you to be patient with reimbursement as we are expecting to collect very little revenue over the next few months.
In a financial position to help and would like to contribute? There are 2 different ways you can help!
1. Request to continue your auto-pay. Submit a request via email at email@example.com. Auto-pay will be frozen unless you request to continue.
2. Purchase a gift card: You can purchase a gift card to use for your family or to be ear-marked for our scholarship program. Click here to buy a gift card: https://www.hisawyer.com/sitka-gymnastics-academy/schedules/gift_cards
A few ideas Sitka Gymnastics has for future activities in addition to classes:
Fun Days (expand Fun Fridays into multiple days), Gymnastics Camps, Active Academics, daily group hiking activities, tutoring services (all senior gym staff have degrees), Open Gyms, Private Lessons, skill specific clinics, and other childcare services. Have an idea? Let us know!
